ALPHA Retreat

Alpha is a three-day weekend retreat which takes place once each semester. It is a chance to spend some time away from the craziness of college life and get to know more about yourself, deepen your relationship with God, and learn more about the awesome student community here at St. Augustine's.

Where is Alpha?

Alpha takes place each semester at Camp Crystal Lake, about 45 minutes northeast of Gainesville.

When is the next one?

Next semester's Alpha is February 21-23. We'll meet at 5pm on Friday at Hurley Hall and carpool from there. We'll return at approximately 5pm on Sunday.

What does it cost?

The cost of the retreat is $60 - $10 deposit and the remaining $50 due on the Friday of the retreat. This covers meals, housing, transportation and supplies. Some scholarship funding is available. Contact Ashley D’Emo at for more details.

What should I bring?

  • A sleeping bag (or sheets and a blanket) – we sleep in cabins with bunk beds
  • A pillow
  • Toiletries and towels
  • Shower shoes
  • Clothes for warm and cool weather, especially a sweatshirt
  • Bible, journal, rosary etc.
  • A flashlight is helpful
